Stour Valley Way

The Stour Valley Way is a 62 mile footpath that runs (mostly) along the bank of the river Stour in Dorset and Wiltshire. Some sections are busy, some are so unused they are falling into disrepair and abandonment.

I acquired some free web-space about ten years ago and decided to document some of the byways and pathways along this magnificent river.

Hengistbury Head

The crumbling cliff face of Hengistbury Head

Rising to about 30 meters Hengistbury Head provides fantastic views out across the Solent to the Isle of Wight and well as inland towards Christchurch and Bournemouth.

Hengistbury Head is on the outskirts of Bournemouth in Dorset UK. It is a beautiful headland that divides Poole Bay from Christchurch Bay.

Nearly 20 years ago I built a website for Hengistbury Head giving some information on its formation, geology and long and varied history. It was mainly aimed at school and college students. They still study Hengistbury Head and still still use the website.
