Hengistbury Head

The crumbling cliff face of Hengistbury Head

Rising to about 30 meters Hengistbury Head provides fantastic views out across the Solent to the Isle of Wight and well as inland towards Christchurch and Bournemouth.

Hengistbury Head is on the outskirts of Bournemouth in Dorset UK. It is a beautiful headland that divides Poole Bay from Christchurch Bay.

Nearly 20 years ago I built a website for Hengistbury Head giving some information on its formation, geology and long and varied history. It was mainly aimed at school and college students. They still study Hengistbury Head and still still use the website.

Although the website has been rebuilt a number of times it is perhaps now showing its age. But until it gets too embarrassing I’ll leave it alone. Although it is not a wordpress site it is fully responsive so shows up OK on small devices as well as large.
